The mayor of the municipality of Bakırköy (İstanbul), Bülent KERİMOĞLU, has signed the Pact of Towns and Regions to stop sexual violence against children, at a side event during the meeting of the Monitoring Committee in Büyükçekmece (İstanbul), Turkey, on 28 June 2018, in the presence of Anders KNAPE (Sweden, EPP/CCE), President of the Chamber of Local Authorities of Congress.
The Pact is a tool, launched at the initiative of Congress that proposes practical actions and policies to put in place child-friendly services. The primary objective is to protect children and prevent sexual violence to which they may be exposed. The signatory cities undertake to develop initiatives in this direction.
